They marketed the game different than it was
They marketed it as being Halo + WoW + COD pvp and all we got was COD pvp

you failed to mention your opinion is based on your experience prior to the wolves expansion. so I devalued your opinion.

I loved it at first,,,,then I beat the game and was like...is that all? I haven't played wolves. Last I played was the Hive expansion can't remember the name. I had fun with that but only because my friends were all playing it.

Is this the same expansion that didnt include a raid, more shitty story missions that are just like the others, and instead of introducing new enemies they just slightly modified the ones already in the game.
I watched some people play through it and it just seems like more lazily put together money grabbing content.

No it's actually pretty good. Thank you for asking, I would hate for you to be mixed up.

If you enjoy it then more power to you. I actually bought the $100 (or 80?) version of the game when it came out to get the DLC cheaper. I haven't touched any of it. I've watched playthroughs of each piece of DLC and they just seem lazily put together like the rest of the game.
There are just too many good games out there imo to keep grinding in this game. I wouldn't mind going back and playing these DLC packs, but none of my friends will buy them.

I wouldn't call them lazy at all. If it's not your thing, I get it. My thoughts are well documented. I don't think this game is perfect at all but I have fun shooting shite.

the second raid was so laughably glitchy. You could complete the raid without really even trying.

I've recently given up on Destiny and switched to ESO, but I will say House of Wolves is everything the game was supposed to be. It's very, very well done. Much better than that crap excuse for an expansion they called The Dark below. For those that have taken a break and haven't tried out HoW they really should go back.

I think people who followed the game in development and bought it at release have a distorted view of the game. As mentioned above, it was marketed as an open world MMO but in the style of Halo. It's definitely not an MMO, it's an FPS with RPG elements and people felt like they got burned because of that. I was lucky in that I didn't follow the game at all and I just got it for free bundled with my PS4 and I played it with literally no expectations and wow I was blown away. Just the mechanics, weapons, and level designs alone are enough to make this game great, but the RPG elements like the central hub and the social aspects were just icing on the cake. You can complain about how much you have to grind for gear, but if the gear was easy to come by then it wouldn't be rewarding to get it and most people would be done with the game in 25 hours. I hear people say that the things you have to do are repetitive...No shite! It's an FPS. No matter what, you're always just going to be shooting droves of enemies or shooting other players. Destiny actually has a more vast amount of game options than any other shooter I've ever played. If you take it for what it actually is, I don't see how anyone could be disappointed in this game

Agreed with absolutely everything you've said.

I, like you, didn't follow development. I tried the beta because of the hype, had a decent time, and decided to get the game. I had no expectations so I took it for what it was.

that's a pretty damn good assessment. I followed it for a year before release. My friends and I were so fricking excited for the game release and all I got was a stinking pile of shite haha. Like I said i'm sure the game is good now but it was shite back in February.

Isn't it wonderful?

It helps that I don't believe anything said pre release for any game
Posted on 6/10/15 at 9:35 pm to Mr Gardoki
Same with me. I've learned to take everything a dev says with a lump of salt, add 9 months to the expected release date, never pre order a game, and wait for the reviews. It's sad really

Doesn't bother me. They have to sell a product. The sooner people learn it's a business the better they will be.

kige what you said.
I bought it not long after release knowing very little about it. knew it had received some hate but bought it anyway because the concept appealed to me. loved it, put many hours into it, grew old, sold it. bought it again on the xbone with both expansions after hearing it had improved. I agree it's definitely improved.
