Have a client that is an Edward Jones rep, makes damn good money doing this and doesn't seem like they have a solid grip on the economy/equities market. I guess it's all about selling then relying on the Edward Jones research team to assist in directing investments.

This is true for all of them. They are simply salesmen 99% of the time.
