A lot, but it has been about 20 years ago. Usually drove at around 85MPH, in a VW Jetta and had no problems, there were always cars going much faster and slower. the Semi Trucks did have a speed limit, and were required to stay in the right lane which helped a lot. If you have a car capable of high speed never, ever, ever pass on the right no matter how slow the car you are approaching is, unlike in the US they will move over to the right and allow you to pass. I don't know about today, but at the time it seemed like there were more BMW and Mercedes cars on the roads in the US than Germany, gas was expensive, and the average person drove VWs, Opels, Ford Escorts, Hondas, and Toyotas.

When I went in 2008 a ton of cabs were Benz and BMWs, but I saw a lot of civilians driving other stuff.
I was disappointed a Ferrari or Lamborghini didn't pass me going 200 mph . I kept waiting for that, but it never happened. It was just standard looking cars leaving me in the dust. I think I got up to around 100 mph (which obviously isn't a big deal), but I didn't stay there long. You do see slow moving stuff in the right and passing, while fun, made me a bit anxious. If I got used to it I would do it a lot, but I drove on there this once.
