As this board tends to be fickle, some really put down on all-inclusives. I've been to an excellence resort, Sandals, and going to Mexico in July (Valentin Imperial Maya).
They are enjoyable vacations if you like relaxing on the beach/pool and drinking a lot. If you want to explore, they're aren't the best and can be more expensive.

I think this sums it up. Of course, where I live, I can relax on the beach by basically walking out the front door and same goes for the pool. When I go down to Mexico, I want daytime activities and to party my balls off all night, then come home exhausted, but knowing good times were had and time was maximized.
