You graduated from the school. Did you play a sport? Get scholly? I ask because of how they make it seem every person that goes there is a D1 lock.

Yes, soccer and baseball at first and just baseball by my sophomore year

No, it didn't really work like that when I was there as the football program didn't exist yet. IMG is ridiculously expensive (they advertise that it costs $45k a year but that doesn't include boarding, meal plan, extras, and gear, it can cost up to 100k a year and probably averages 60-70 for most people) and people that can afford it have to pay. They gave scholarships for a very small amount of outstanding players that flat out couldn't afford it but for the most part everyone was paying

ETA: just realized you were talking about a college scholarship. Yea I got college scholarship offers

That's bullshite, they made it seem like that to me too but when you look at their wording in advertisements it's usually "99% of athletes can go to the next level or something along those lines. Basically out of my teammates, we had like 7 get drafted my senior year, a few go to major d1 schools, and the rest either went to small colleges or elected to not take that route.

IMG is a sports/modeling agency first and a sports academy second and they really look for people that could turn out to be marketable like Tom Brady or Russell Wilson over people that are talented but have shitty personalities and ways of carrying themselves like Marshawn Lynch or Terrell Owens. As a side note that's why I'm so excited about Savion Smith as an IMG star, he's going to surprise people with his composure, media skills, athletic development, and big personality when he's a freshman

But to sum it up, no, most athletes there aren't D1 locks and a lot of them choose to not even play in college after seeing how the sausage is made, especially considering the fact that they come from families that can afford $100k a year in high school tuition and make money in other ways. The life of a pro athlete (football excluded) is honestly pretty shitty unless you're a guy like Alex Rodriguez that's been in the majors for 18 years and I got full exposure to that and had a lot of conversations with ex professional and college athletes that made me not want to pursue "the dream". I played for two years after I left IMG and after I realized I wasn't going to be a star in the major leagues I decided to opt out of making $25k a year in the minors for 10 years and wasting my youth. But yea the D1 lock rhetoric is a lie unless you're talking about the 8 position starters and their top few pitchers
