A lot of people forget that the French Quarter has some very residential areas tucked away in the back. The places have some great, local bars and restaurants....Cosimos..Sylvain...Molly's....Erin Rose...and such. I was in downtown Nashville recently (Music City Bowl disaster) and didn't find that many places like that. It was definitely more geared to tourism.
