If Lebron had stayed in Cleveland despite the players he had around him, he'd probably be more loved than MJ. But he didn't.

So you really think the majority of NBA fans will think of this as a redemption story. They like redemption stories but not when they're the ones that got burned.

When he made the decision to jump to Miami, he guaranteed that he would never be as loved by fans as MJ. Now whether he actually cares about that or not, I don't know but it is what it is.

If he wanted to be the clear GOAT in NBA fans' minds then he should've stayed in Cleveland. He'll probably win more championships the route he went though.
