Tyreke really improved his 3 point shot and didn't take nearly as many mid-range shots as he used too.

His career 3pt shooting and attempts before this year...?
26.8% and 0.5/1.9 per game for 1.53ppg

This year?
30.4% and 0.9/2.9 per game for 2.65ppg
Taking away that 1 shot and still giving him the increased % would have been 1.73ppg a difference of 0.92ppg.

Giving any player on the team that can hit a 2pt shot >46% would have resulted in a higher point per attempt or letting EG, QPon, Cole, or Ryno that shot would have been smarter.

Extremely inefficient even if he improved 3.6%.

I do like that he reduced his mid-range jumper from a career 16.8% (2.39 fga) of his shots to only 11.0% (1.62 fga) and went from shooting 31.9% to 39.1%.

That means he went from a midrange shot of...
0.76/2.39 fg = 1.52 ppg to 0.63/1.62 fg = 1.26 ppg

So between the mid-range + 3pt shooting, he went from:
1.26/4.29 fg/3pt (29.4%) = 3.05 ppg (career)
1.53/4.52 fg/3pt (33.8%) = 3.91 ppg (2014)

Improvement, but still very inefficient.

I thought his 3pt % was a little more improved than that but i didn't know his mid range had improved that much, but I didn't need to look anything up bc I watched enough games to know he improved. We need a sharp shooting SF to pair with him off the bench that doesn't include Babbitt. Tyreke has talent and is still young and relatively cheap, but he needs to learn how to take contact bc he's a big dude and should be able to out strengthen whoever is guarding him instead of a little push off flip shot or the obvious euro step into a defender that turns into a bad shot or a forced pass in mid air.
