still going to be a lot cheaper in LA, TX is a ripoff in that dept., lived on a waterfront home in FL less than 10 minutes from the ocean(by boat,) I pay twice the property tax in TX to live in one God awful ugly assed place, auto insurance may be a different story though

Maybe I'm in the minority here but screw Houston.

I wouldn't choose to live in BR but other options, on the outskirts, would be more than acceptable.

You pay out the arse but you get a lot back with the public schools being so good. If you have kids, it's a good place to be.

In the state that BR is in now, I don't think I could move back. I see little glimmers of hope, like the rail that might be put in and the water campus. If they bulldoze and gentrify the Highland area north of LSU, Gardere, and Tigerland, it might actually be a nice city to live in.
