Just caught up. This show is intriguing as hell, but good God are there a ton of what seem to be holes (unless there is a huge twist).
- who kept the fence up for 2000 years? That's a damn long time for electrical equipment.
- the afore-mentioned voicemail.
- the wife also mentions that she found a landline and got hold of Burke's partner/boss.
- fuel-powered cars? How do they get gasoline?
My theory is that everyone running this thing is full of shite and the Abbie deal is a cover for some kind of prison in present time for people that need to go away. I don't care whether this diverges from the books or not (I haven't read and don't know) - there are too many holes otherwise.
- why did the owner of the bar lie about the waitress not working there? Why did he radio in Burke's number? No other resident is acting like that. It doesn't add up to the narrative.
I mean, I can accept jumps in logic and suspension of disbelief. shite, Lost is one of my all time favorite shows. But some of this just makes no sense given the story we are being told.
I'm in til the end regardless.

There wasn't a fence while they were in suspension. In the book, the day Pilcher came out of suspension they went exploring and came across the abbies and almost got him due to a foot on snow on the ground and him being weak from his time under.

Part of the system shown in episode 5 or 6 (I think)where Pilcher gives Ethan a tour of the arc.

It was in the preserves that Pilcher had in the arc.
