What I hoped to be able to find for him is 2 solutions ... a cheap 3d printed solution to let him try and see if it improved certain tasks for him ... Then of course some sort of cosmetic solution to use as needed ... As the poster above so kindly pointed out, most of the medical solutions though are not worth it.

That's exactly what I said it wouldn't do. You quoted my post that said what you are asking for wouldn't add function to his hand/finger.
I've got a study going right now youd be perfect for. If you need any orthopedic procedures let me know, costs would be covered...
