I hope you are just pointing out an event and not subtly blaming Mainieri for benching him this past weekend.

Are you seriously arguing for disparate treatment?
Yes.

Should I have told the teacher I would make millions as a doctor had he not screwed me?
Big difference between being in medicine and playing a game for entertainment.
In many instances professors are doing the person and society in general a disservice if they dont pass a kid. Mo Claiborne got what a 4 on the Wonderlic? Would it have done anyone a lick of good to have a freshman English professor teach him a lesson and have him fail a class and go back to Shreveport? No.
Does giving foster a 68 average instead of a 70 do anything for the kid? Do you think whatever job he gets with a sports administration degree will care about this situation? Is he planning on getting a phd in sports administration? No, no no. Does it hurt his chances of having a mlb career-potentially. Pass the kid have them collect millions and they might give some back to the university so the prof can keep his job.

I am stating that in the event the appeal verdict is in favor of Foster then you cant continue to punish him for being academically ineligible when he no longer is.

Yea, you're not helping anyone. Arguing that we should lower academic standards for athletes is incredibly dumb.

If you can give me any argument on how giving some of these kids a 60 instead of a 70, ESPECIALLY a senior, is in anyway productive Im all ears.

It doesn't mean he isn't guilty, and a coach is allowed to control his team. Manieri knows what happened, and I trust his judgment. If he reinstates Foster, fine. If he doesn't, fine.

I have a degree from LSU. If it's productive to lessen my degree in the name of just passing athletes, then let me know.
I had to earn my degree, even as a senior. Why shouldn't he?

Well you can rest easy because giving out a couple extra general studies/sports administration degress isnt really gonna take a toll on the job prospect your womens and genders studies degree I assure you
Also the time commitment to these teams supersedes what most would imagine especially in things like baseball and basketball

Didn't realize you would go full retard. I have a major and law degree from LSU, and I didn't think someone would call me out on that in the name of defending an athlete who couldn't make his final grades.
ETA: in light of your edit, I'll let you know that I was a tutor for athletes and spent more than enough hours helping many out.

Next time a firm passes on you because LSU gave some grades to an athlete Ill be sure to take back anything I said in the previous post. Forgive me if I dont hold my breath.

This has to be trolling. LSU is a school. If you value athletics over the institution, then I i can't convince you otherwise.

If you think that 99% of the football, basketball and baseball players are attending LSU for the academics rather than a route to further their athletic career than I dont know what to tell you and by giving out a few extra general studies degrees is not hurting LSU's reputation.
For a "lawyer" you arent coming up with any sort of persuading argument. I may have overestimated your degree being at the womens and genders studies.

Falsely giving out degrees, which is what you promoted, does make my degree feel less.
I don't care if athletes have easy degrees. I care if my school falsely gives them out.

Well sorry to bust your bubble but Ive known non athletes to get an extra point or two to pass a class or an extension on an assignment in order to graduate.
Quit spouting off stuff your regurgitating from Corbetts class.

I have too. It doesn't make it less disingenuous, and you're part of the shitty problem that promotes it.
You earn a degree, you don't get it handed it to you because you're an athlete.

Well, here I am standing before you..... A CRNA falsely accused in my academic setting of being a ton of things.....
I stood before a jury of 5 people in the academic setting and won my rights back.....
Should I not be allowed to practice? Professors aren't always objective, they can be vindictive and dishonest.
An appeal isn't just one person's decision, it's a group of people who decide if Foster was wronged.

He was kicked off the team because he was academically ineligible secondary to a grade. If the grade is found to be unjust by the system in place then he was kicked off under false pretenses.
Any professor that would do this is a tool on a power trip anyways. In what way does giving a guy a D in a sports admin class vs a C help anyone? Youre willing to go out of your way to put the kids baseball career in jeopardy? Any non MLB job that Foster ends up having couldnt care less about that grade but it could seriously jeopardize potentially getting drafted.
This may be the dumbest thing I have read in a while

Dude I'm all for helping student athletes. I was in the system before. But coaches will sometimes write papers for them. This is fact. Coaches also make sure every kid is in class. They get reports every 4 weeks or so. Everything is in place to make sure they pass. All they have to do is give like 40 percent effort basically. As long as teacher wasn't out to get him then he deserves what he gets. My friend is good friends with Jared and even he says he is biggest douche he knows
Hope he wins appeal though
