But I do believe his trip to Maryland to scout out Kimberly and the events after he got back from his trip are pretty damning.

Cannibal Cop had a chilling OK Cupid account
quote:
But just when we thought Valle’s zeal for knocking out, abducting, and cannibalizing his victims couldn’t get creepier, Gothamist discovered his profile on the dating site OkCupid.
Valle’s favorite book? Green Eggs and Ham.
“I am a very calm individual who never ever sweats the small stuff,” wrote the same man who told his co-conspirator that he was “aspiring to be a professional kidnapper” and would have to restrain himself from “getting off” on abducting his victims, because “that’s business.”
quote:
Valle also stated that among his desired traits in a potential girlfriend, like niceness and humor and “absolutely no drugs,” he was “looking for a partner in crime.” He encouraged potential girlfriends to message him only if they were serious about meeting in person. It’s not yet known whether Valle used OkCupid to search out victims.
Authorities were alerted to Valle’s proclivities last month when, in a scene straight out of Bluebeard, his wife stumbled across a chilling file on his computer—Valle’s database of all the women he wanted to kill and cannibalize. The logs contained detailed information on victims, including height, weight, and bra size.
Valle’s relatives and acquaintances were shocked that the “cannibal cop” was the same person they knew, with some neighbors declaring the arrest a setup. On his Facebook page, which was removed yesterday, Valle had over 600 friends.
“I will spoil the heck out of you if I like ya :),” he wrote on OkCupid, noting that he spends a lot of time thinking about “how screwed up people are” and “what I’m going to eat for dinner.”

The media hammering him for the dating profile at the end was perfect.

He probably should have stayed off of the dating sites until this shite is settled.

Just finishing this. Man. This guy fascinates me. I think he's a pussy, and I don't think he would have done any of this stuff, but I also think he is super fricked up.
That's one thing that is really crazy about crime. I think lots of people have the same screwed up thoughts, and even the same intentions, but some people at the end of the day, don't have the courage to go through with it. And for that, they are very lucky.
If I'm a juror, I'm just not buying that this guy is dangerous though. The only thing he is a danger to is his own penis because he probably masturbates 20 times a day. Even the couple of times he said he would do it, I think he was lying. People lie to act cool. And actually having the guts to do it was what would impress the freaks he was talking with online.
But what is scary about all of this is that weak people do big things by taking one step at a time (usually this logic is used for those trying to accomplish good tasks). And if he does build an oven or torture device, then he's one stop closer to doing one big fricked up thing.
A guy like this could make enough small steps that eventually he could act. I am so fascinated right now. Damn. I would love to talk in a live forum about this. Too much miscommunication on a message board for really good discussion though. I won't be surprised if somebody overreact to something I already typed.

The dude took active fricking steps with real people to try to kidnap these girls. That's not fiction anymore. Unbelievable

I agree. When terrorists are caught before committing the act, nobody calls it a thought crime, they call it a criminal conspiracy. Should they have just sat on their hands until he killed someone? He was clearly in the active planning stage. He's a sick frick and his mom seems mentally ill as well.

It made my skin crawl to see the defense team smiling ear to ear whenever he got the conviction overturned.
How can a judge overturn a verdict on evidence anyway? that's the whole point of a trial, no? It's one thing if something was done to compromise the fairness of the trial or evidence was in admissible or something, but just letting a judge throw out a verdict based on his own thoughts on the case just seems wrong to me.

I just don't get this at all. He didn't build a single thing he needed (and claimed he had built to the people online). He let every planned date go by without doing anything. When terrorists do stuff, there is usually plenty of actual evidence. There was no physical evidence in this case. He had not begun the process of actually committing the crimes. He hadn't even bought masking tape.
Literally the only thing in his checklist he had was his car, which he obviously had the whole time. I think it is very important to not that he was lying about being ready online because that means just about everything else he said was a lie. People lie all of the time on the internet. Usually, they aren't hoping you think they are lying though.
I absolutely agree that he is a very sick human being, and I think his mom should be more worried (but to be fair, she may just be acting strong for cameras because his case is still very criticized).

The most damning piece of evidence is the fact that he went to visit Kimberly.

Once you bring real people into this and keep information on these people and discuss in detail what you plan on doing and even discuss monetary terms with another person, that is wayyy past a "thought" at that time

And the scariest part is that his own wife was in the discussion as well. He wouldn't need a drawn out plan to act on his urges on her.
