TLDR: Read the last line of this post

That LSU team's accomplishments will go underrated in the future. There's no doubt they will only talk about "GOTCII" and the complete domination. But in all honestly, that'll all that matters.

Look at the Patriots team that went 18-1. They were already considered the best NFL team in history. They lose the Superbowl to a wildcard Giants 9-7 team. No one ever talks about the other 18 games. LSU completely dominates the SEC, wins the GOTC, obliterates AU, MSU, and OM, and wins against a #3 Arkansas team. Too lazy to pull statistics, but between Oregon, WVU, ARK, UF, MSU, Bama, Aub, and UGA, had they won the NC, there would be no way to deny them them the title of the best team ever in college football.

We can sit here and debate JJ/JL all day or whatever, but in college football, playing the same team more than once is almost a fatal experience regardless. Especially considering you give Nick Saban, the best college coach in history in my opinion a month to prepare a #1 defense for Jordan Jefferson/Jarrett Lee.

LSU loses. No one talks about the regular season and the accomplishment of 8 ranked teams and what, 4 inside the top 10?

Patriots lose. I have never heard anyone talk about how remarkable the 18-0 was.

It doesn't matter if you backdoor royal flush yourself into the NC with 2 losses(2007) or end up winning the super bowl against the best team ever with a 9-7 record. Only thing that matters is who takes home the trophy in the end.

Side rant - I wish hypothetically football teams could play best of 7 games like the NBA. At the minimum best of 3. Some bizarre things tend to happen. Especially in LSU games. I just like series games because for the most part the best team will continue. Obviously I understand the logistics of why it would never happen. Just think that's the only way to determine it.

And to be honest, the first college team to go down undefeated and win the CFP will win the title as the best team ever. Pretty much should. Different game now than it was 5 years ago.

As I stated in my previous post. It was amazing to watch LSU take the field against Alabama. I would imagine those are easily the two best teams that either team has ever fielded and it happened in the same year. Like 45 players off those teams were drafted.. Obviously not all were starters, but essentially every starter was drafted. Offenses weren't particularly good. But it didn't matter how prolific your offense was.. Weren't moving it against either team.

MOST IMPORTANT:
I've never googled it because I have no desire to watch myself get embarrassed in even a local setting. But should you desire, go watch Ocean Springs High School(I.e. 2008-2011). Slow white linebacker that misses tackles and gets trucked ----- Yours truly.

Luckily, my career doesn't depend on me taking on people 40lbs bigger than me. It was certainly entertaining to watch from the other teams perspective.

ETA: Typos :(
