You beat up a lot of people who are unconscious?

That's retarded and completely impractical to determine in most cases. Beating someone in the head who is either unconscious or no longer willing/capable of resisting is chickenshit unless you are in a life or death struggle.
This is easy to say when you aren't actually involved.

But, if someone starts a fight with you, it can be enraging. That dude that started it with me and then bit me? I was able to get to my feet before him and before he got up, I landed a clean boot kick to his face. I then proceeded to land REPEATED boot kicks to his face. I have no idea how many but I'm pretty certain the last several were completely unnecessary.

But dude. I had a piece of my face hanging off me. If a drill hadn't shown up and pulled me off, good chance I kill the guy and not even mean it.

I can say this. I wouldn't have stopped kicking him until I'd gotten too tired to pull my leg back.

You'd have killed him. You'd be in jail.

How much jail time would you get if you kill a guy fighting?

Which is fine. But you would and should be charged with assault/murder if it came to that which kicking someone knocked out in the head would do. A lot of people in this thread sound like damn cavemen

Note, I didn't say I was "right".

I merely observed that if someone has attacked you, your reactions aren't necessarily rational in the moment.

Everyone acts like this is some sort of professional fight or something.

I'm not the type to look for a fight. My handle is ShortyRob for a reason. Fact is, straight up, this guy probably takes me 4 out of 5 times. But, I moved a bit quicker than him that day.

Point being, I didn't want to fight.

I wasn't contemplating laws in that moment. Few people would.

You have a particular set of skills. You sound dangerous when provoked.

Don't make him angry. You won't like him when he's angry.

Nah. I'd prefer not to fight. I'm not the size guy that feels guaranteed to win. Oh, I'm pretty physical for my size, so, I'm alright. But, I'm not stupid. I know that bigger guys have the upper hand.

This guy didn't provoke me. He attacked me(and for something pretty stupid too). He tackled me and I turned such that I was able to end up on top of his chest before he bit me.

I didn't anticipate the shite at all. 1 minute before the fight, if you'd have asked me, I'd have said, "I'd rather not fight that dude" cause, well, like I said, he really shoulda taken me.

My only point here was that it's damned easy from the outside looking in to say what you "should" do. But, when you get attacked, at least in that moment, there's not a whole lot of philosophical thinking going on.
