I believe it is the other way around. Since pressure drops as the bullet travels down the cylinder, less pressure is loss after it exits a longer cylinder than normal. Same as a bullet leaving a short vs. long barrel.

Yea, thats true, but it's irrelevant in this case. The round will depressurize because of the gap between the cylinder and where the actual barrel begins. Bap was getting at how much clearance they will have between the bullet tip and the forward end of the cylinder. Most revolvers have the bullet nesting very close to the end of the cylinder.
