If the child is his, and even if he had nothing to do with what happened, it doesn't reflect good on him if he never saw that child, especially in the child's last moments.

If there's a possibility that the child IS mine, I would have to be there for the child until/if it's proven otherwise.

I just couldn't look myself in the mirror if it turns out the baby was my child and I never saw him/her and the child died. If a person could live with that, that's pretty disturbing.

I'm not so sure that they let "possible fathers" in to visit in the NICU. Just saying. Maybe the mother's family declined any visitors. Maybe the mother had told him it wasn't his. Maybe a lot of things.

I would like to think that if he had an inkling that the child was his that he at least TRIED to get there.
