So the perps are two young minorities from NOLA? Why is this not surprising? Check points at the 17th St. canal to keep the trash out.

Metairie is headed the way of N.O.East and has been for years. I've been telling friends and family to gtfo for quite some time now.

Metairie isn't heading the way of the East. Your friends and family aren't listening to you because that's just ignorant.

Strong contender for dumbest post of the week.

I've seen it change over the last 20 years. Call me dumb, that's fine, but those apartments and the Section 8 are big time issues. And, the fact that people in Metairie have grown accustomed to car burglaries in neighborhoods where it was an extremely rare event during the 1990's is a bad sign.
You're the frog in the slowly warming pot of water. You'll realize it at some point.

Does anyone know if the sheriff's presser at 11 will be televised / streamed?

Though a lot has changed since the storm, Metairie is not even close to New Orleans East...
JPSO wont let that happen...
Some way, some how they definetely need to put a halt on all the section 8 housing that's popping up everwhere...

Metairie is declining but no way will it turn into another Nola East. It's still ~60% white and in JP. It's really turning into another Kenner.

Mandevillie has been growing for decades. To say Metriaire is going the way of the east is just silly.

I just took a look at the JPSO crime tracker and used only violent crimes, burglaries, thefts, and left out drug offenses, and sex crimes except for rape while plugging in zip codes for 70001, 70002, 70005 and 70006 which are better parts of metairie. The map was covered with dots.

Do you really expect to see zero crime in the what would be the fourth biggest city if incorporated...?

I didn't say it was NO East. I said it's headed that way. I lived in NO East during the 1970's and I watched what happened. I've seen this before.

What are they going to do? It's not a matter for them to decide. It's property owners and federal regulations that determine who can move where.

Of course not. But it wasn't that bad 20 years ago while nationally crime is down.
Posted on 4/26/15 at 10:36 am to Jake88
While JP is 60% white, Metairie is 75%. JP is also the second largest parish in the state following EBR. With this many folks violent crimes will be there period, it's how they are dealt with which make ps the difference.

I guess I could've re-arranged my post..
I was talking about JPSO not letting Metairie turn into another NOE...

Watch what they do. Jpso and jp government are not and no where close to nopd and no government. The nola criminals will be scared to cross parish lines like they were in the past.
