that's always the theory, but seldom reality. IMO the "bigger" names that Les interviewed probably wanted more autonomy with respect to assistants than Les was willing to give.

And I actually can see that both ways. In one regard, I'm hiring you. I'm picking the coaches. Especially somewhere as highly rated as LSU. Why would you want to get rid of the guys we already have.
But on the reverse, how can you expect a coach to fully teach the positions his scheme if the assistants aren't all on the same page.

they "probably" didn't imo.
the HC has the final say at most schools as to the assistants. AND it just so happened that we were getting rid of Haley and keeping Raymond no matter who came here. Both of those decisions were good ones. as Chavis learned, co-ordinators do not have complete autonomy nor should they.
