I agree. there is nothing at stake in these movies for me to care about.
even worse is that no one dies and then Natalie portman punches loki (and what these movies really need are a villain) and says "that was for new York"

You wouldn't punch out Osama bin Laden if you had the chance? I mean, I think that punch out is pretty straight forward. Loki was the prime instigator of destroying New York, and she lives there. And even if she didn't... screw you, dude. Don't mess with our cities, you jack arse.
The problem here is that we haven't seen anyone we know suffer in the NYC demolition (well, except Daredevil and everyone living in Hell's Kitchen). In fact, pretty much all of the Daredevil's problems are tied into the aftermath of the Battle of NY.
