re: quail sexing

I raise pharaoh quail and you can tell the males when they get to 6 weeks old, they will have much redder breast feathers as opposed to females which are kind of spotted. You can also sex them by pressing above the vent and if a foamy substance comes out, they are a male. Males also crow(loudly) so you can watch them and pick them out that way as well. I'm pretty sure pharaoh are the only one's you can sex by color.
