My biggest issue this season has been the introduction of new characters we're going to have for a whopping handful of episodes (and not really great ones at that) instead of really fleshing out what we already have.
I can only have faith that Weiner and crew have a plan and aren't just winging this. To be honest, the last several series to which I was faithful disappointed in the end--and that's including Breaking Bad (BLASPHEMY) which was pretty weak to me for much of Season 5, was GOAT in the episodes leading up to Ozymandias, and then just kind of mailed it in. I was not a big fan of the last two episodes.
I'm calibrating my expectations. Even at half-speed the remaining shows will be better than most anything that's been on television in our lifetimes. I just hope they don't try something cheesy and unbelievable.

I have watched many sitcoms through to the finale, but I have been trying to think of a single drama I watched all the way through to the finale. I honestly cannot think of one right now. I believe I have lost interest at some point along the way in every single drama I have ever watched until now. The shorter seasons might have helped me stick it out with Mad Men. It doesn't help that I do not watch very many dramas at all.
I never realized this about myself before, that I have never watched a drama through to the end. Interesting. I can count numerous dramas I gave up on, including Breaking Bad, House of Cards, West Wing, Newsroom, Grey's Anatomy come immediately to mind. Undoubtedly there are others.
ETA: Heroes, Smallville, and Alphas are the only non-sitcoms I have watched every single episode of. Obviously, they are all in the superhero/powers genre. No dramas until now with Mad Men.
