Also - if anyone reading this does the same treatment on a 4 stroke, be sure to change your oil and filter right after. All the "junk" it cleans out can end up in the oil, potentially causing other issues.

Carbs need to be cleaned. Almost a given. Anytime a boat sits up is bad for the motor. Run at least once a week to keep old gas from just sitting in the carbs. I used to unplug the gas line and run it out of gas. Now I just put a little marine stabil in every tank and it works great.

Seafoam might help with the carbs but if its gummed up pretty good they will need to be taken apart for cleaning.
