Both of them actually make pretty good points. I don't think they meant to but they did.
Moore basically said "white people own most of the guns" which is probably true but "most of the gun crimes happen in inner city" (poor or black/latino) which is probably true.
We've also grown accustomed to inner city crime and gun violence because, to be quite frank, frick 'em, let them kill off each other as long as they aren't coming in to my neighborhood pulling drive-by's. I find this to be pretty true too.
We should prevent felons and clinicly mental deficient people from buying guns. True (but we also have laws that state this very same thing.)
We're scared to walk in east LA, Detroit, Chicago, etc. at night (unarmed). True
Moore's solution to fight gun crime is where the problem lies and I have no better one to offer.
I've personally never bought a gun from an individual. I've had a background check run every time I've bought a firearm. As much as it will probably piss some of yall off, I think all gun sales should go through an FFL wether they be business to citizen or citizen to citizen sales but that's just me. I'd bet that a large percentage of illegally owned guns used in gun crime were purchased legally at some point. I have a hard time believing that cartels shipped them all in illegally and sold them to violent offenders.
I also think the process for aquiring a concealed carry permit should be just as easy as the background check run when buying a firearm from a dealer. They will sell me a gun without my fingerprints and divorce decrees but I can't carry it without 15 years of background info. That's ridiculous.
