3mbps is on the low side of what's available anywhere. When streaming videos from the Internet, it's recommended to have about 5mbps for an hd stream from something like Netflix. With multiple devices potentially streaming videos (from facebook and youtube), you could very well saturate your bandwidth. I would consider upgrading, but no one would fault you for going with 3 to test it out first. At that price though, your local cable provider will almost definitely have a faster connection available.

We have Uverse (16mbps tier) and Comcast (3mbps tier), and both the Roku and Apple TV are picture clear on the lower bandwidth, but shitty on UVerse. 3 meg is plenty without any interference, typically.
