They botched the ending. Not sure why they even had to deviate.
I blame the studio. They read the end and surely said, "Well there's clearly got to be an epic battle rather than having the bad guys not being able to hurt anyone and Harry and Voldemort's final showdown being 1 curse." I guess subtlety and tension is lost on kids these days, which that scene in the books had gloriously.

The last movie is close to as bad as the Half Blood Prince movie.
I disagree if only because the Snape's death and memory scenes are so well done.

I was disappointed we didn't get the Neville's parents in the pysch ward scene for Order of the Phoenix. Oh, I know why they didn't do it... time over runs and so on.
Even so I still think that one little bit in the book drove home the horror of Voldemort and what he stood for more then any action scene they could come up with.

The 4th-6th books were amazing. I don't even really remember much about reading the 7th I only read it once and that was just so incredibly fast because I just wanted to know what happened. I kind of want to read the series again

I reread the series recently. I was going to write a review on here but now I forgot it. It definitely still has poignancy.
