If you can't trade the #2 pick for a guaranteed starting QB, who would you be willing to give that pick up for

A defensive front 7 guy or an offensive lineman I can pay rookie contract to for next 4 years rather than a high priced QB that still won't be able to succeed with the pieces they have.

I'm sure it would be San Diego's 1st and Rivers for the Titans 1st and 2nd or 3rd. Still think it's a stupid trade for Titans though. Even if Mett never amounts to anything, you build your roster for when you are capable of utilizing a good qb.

With the Titans you never know, but I don't agree with the article. This would probably help Mett in the long run to have Rivers for one year. Rivers is 33 and a very solid QB.
The problem is the Titans will not be very good next year in all probability. I would get as many draft picks for the 2nd pick as humanly possible.

In all candor I don't think either of the top two QBs in the draft will do much in the NFL. I know the Titans like Mett. However, if he gets hurt again this year, which would be three years in a row it is going to bring back memories of Jake Locker and frankly his value will drop to other teams.

Trade the pick and get more bodies... What Tenn needs is a solid couple #1's and a lot of later round picks... Rivers gets beat up enough in SD. He would get killed and frustrated in TENN...
