Consulting at the Big 4 is limited due to their audit practices. Consulting projects for audit clients can create conflicts of interest, or the appearance of conflicts. You might want to consider one of the consulting businesses that were spun off from the big accounting firms (there used to be more than 4) instead of the scaled back consulting practices retained by the Big 4.

Um going to have to highly disagree with you. It is true that consulting or advisory engagements are limited with audit clients. Which is why we work with the hundreds of other large clients who are not our audit clients. The advisory business for my company was $6.5B last fiscal year. I'd hardly call that limited (that's more than both Bain and BCG's global revenues). Not to mention that the advisory and consulting practices of the big 4 are the fastest growing for each company.
