While there might be a number of locally-owned establishments, I just have never cared for the majority of them.
Kevins is still considered an uppertier establishment in the area and while it may not be convenient for someone who lives closer to Prairieville Wal-Mart (neither would be many of the places listed) it would still be a great/close place for many.
The "homemade" feel is very important for many because when you go out with your family you want it to taste/feel like a home made meal, no way would I ask kids to go to some restaurants I visit because they would not enjoy the food and nothing caters to those people.

I really enjoy Nooleys Wings. Couple other decent menu items. They fail on the curley cues though.
Snos still does fried seafood pretty well.
