Why stop there? Print a XXL shirt for QBU, RBU, FBU, WRU, TEU, OLU, DLU, LBU, DBU, and PKU.

Are you saying it's not accurate? Because it is very accurate! The top QBs are at the top in every year.

Why not use actual Quarterback rating?

So a QB that runs his stats up against a shitty defense or throws for 300yds when down by 30pts is the best way to gauge quarterback play? This is not the NFL here. This system, IMO, is perfect for the college game!

Let me introduce you to a site I think you'll like.
LINK

In 2008, 2010, 2012, and 2014, LSU's QB Rating against Power 5 Teams was ranked 80th or below. Those are pretty well regarded as our terrible QB years.

In 2006, Russell was Top 5
In 2013, Mettenberger was Top 10
In 2011, JJ/JL were Top 20
In 2009, Jefferson was Top 20
In 2005, Russell was Top 25
In 2007, Flynn was 53rd

You tell me which you think is more accurate.

Except it's not working.

I'm sorry, is the argument still boiling down to whether or not LSU has a good offense? Is that still the entire point here?

As it stands, no. No they do not. We can improve, but I really don't think there's any argument in the world that can convince me that this system is perfect. Perfect in theory, maybe, but where are the results?

He's talking about that new ranking system ESPN uses for QBs.

You really think that is a more accurate way to gauge quarterbacks? If a team plays a soft schedule it makes their quarterback look like a hero. The college game is not the NFL, they do not face good passing defenses every week.

Just look at 2014 season. W. Kentucky and W. Michigan are #3 and 4. You think that's accurate? Look at the ESPN rating and tell me where they are wrong?

You are one of the dumbest and worst posters on this site. So we have one bad year with two brand new QBs in a pro style offense and you want to throw away all the past........Hahahahahaha you should have a lifetime ban because of your pure ignorance. Miles has been here 10 years. We've had 4 QBs go pro 3 that started a game thier rookie season. What else do you people want......like I said you're pure ignorant.

7 out of 10 years we have had poor QB play.

I would love to throw away most of the past QB play.

I guess you are giving CLM credit for Russel, Flynn and Zack? Who is the fourth?

Not one single QB has Miles had as a freshman and groomed into a good QB. Every QB he has recruited out of highschool and coached up from a freshman has been a dud! The only exception was RP and he didn't stick around long enough to see what his future would be. JJ and AJ looked like Heisman winners in games as underclassmen.

If a team plays a soft schedule, and their QB is a hero, it dilutes his QBR
If a team plays a murderous schedule, and their QB is complete garbage, it strengthens his QBR.

In reality, the hero QB likely is a hero, and the garbage QB likely is garbage despite how SOS influences their Adjusted QBR.

There is absolutely no justification that Jefferson was in the top half of QBs in 2010 though he is ranked there because he played a difficult schedule. As in all things, ESPN is a joke.

If you insist on using QBR, there may be some slight credit in using Raw QBR, which if posted, might support your position.

As judged by what? We've had 5 years with Top 25 QB play and another year where Flynn won us a NC with average play.

We had abysmal play 4 out of 10 years... 3 of which were by a QB with less than two years learning our system.

There have been two such QBs

That's not exactly how it works. It takes quarterback play as whole and make a rating. Joe Blow playing at W. Michigan is ranked in the top 4 in efficiency but in reality he is a 50+ ranked player.

quote:

the hero QB likely is a hero

No he is not, look at all the Heisman quarterbacks that looked like shite when they played a good defensive team.

Just look at the past rankings and see that it is very accurate where the efficiency rating is not.

It has Dylan Thompson and Trevor Knight listed above Dak Prescott and Jameis Winston....

At the end of the season if we win more than 10 games I will never post of the Rant again!

I bookmarked the shite out of this.

My favorite part of every year is the offseason, where fans get to talk about how shitty LSU will be next year and compare that to how shitty we always have been.

Keep it up, you guys.

Good, if we win more than 10 game it will mean we really have turned the corner!

So who do we beat to win 10 regular season games?

Jimbo fisher is QBU

Jamarcus Russell, Christian Ponder, EJ Manual, and Jameis Winston = all first rounders under his tutelage since 2006

They all suck in the pros, but they go in the first
