1. I'm assuming you mean "compete"
2. yeah. We know we can win without good QB play. The problem is this:
We can't win it all without great play from all of our units.
Overall Defense was already #1 in SEC
Special teams.. were.. at least.. OK..
Running game was pretty good.
We probably have the best group of receivers we've had in a long time.
it'd be good if the D-Line improved in pressure..
and QB play HAS to improve.

QB is the only area that HAS to improve if we want to win anything noteworthy.
Hell.. If you take someone average.. like Mauk from Missouri - we'd be SEC west champs (last year at least).

This is true. As long as QB play is subpar, our other units will need to compensate.
Defense can't get gashed up the middle like they did against MSST/AUB/ND.
Running game/OL can't get abused like they did against Arky
Special Teams can't hand games away like they tried against Florida/Ole Miss

However, if our QBs can do what Jennings did in 7 games, and do it in 15, with subtle improvement, combined with the other units shoring up their issues from last year, we'll be the most dangerous team in the country.
