Credit Bureau Dispute

I have been through an audit.
I have made mistakes with zeros at the end of them.
But I have NEVER been through anything like disputing this issue on my credit report. No wonder people simply give up. No one probably cares about the details, but I have an issue that anyone with an IQ above 75 could see is an error, and have been told by four people (including a written letter) that it was an error.
Just received notice that my dispute was denied.

I agree it feels hopeless. I had a charge off on my account from an account where my ex forged my name so she could get the CC. I fought it for years to no avail. I checked my report last month a poof it was gone. Makes no sense at all.

I had a small credit card that I never use. I honestly forgot I had it - its a $1500 limit card that I've had for over 10 years.
There was a $70 charge made to it in the Czech Republic. I disputed the charge with the bank, they issued a new card, and credited the charge back. Received notice that the investigation had concluded that I was not responsible for the card and this was part of a wider breach.
A $1.46 finance charge was applied to the balance and was not credited back by the bank. It caused the account to go 30 days past due. I received my bill literally the day after the bank's automated credit report system reported it. Called in, they credited back the $1.46, and that was that. Found out two weeks later it hit my credit report.
Talked to four different departments at the bank that all said it would be taken care of. Sent a letter to the appropriate department, copied the executive office of the bank, and sent a dispute to all credit bureaus. Received a letter from the bank saying that it was invalid. Received letter from credit bureau saying the dispute was denied because the bank verified the validity.
It is insane.

If you lived in Baton Rouge, I'd say we have the same bank.
My bank sent out new CCs to everyone this summer with new account numbers for each member. When they canceled the old account number, somehow the payment on the card was not taken off. So, when I had my credit run last month for a mortgage, it was showing 8 months of missed payments on a card that was canceled. I've been dealing with the bank every since trying to get them to take it off but they are starting to realize it happened to a lot of people and are taking care of them one at a time.

so they completely canceled the old credit card account and started a new one? you got screwed on more than one front in that situation. not only did you get hit with multiple late payments, but they also decreased your average account history length by canceling the old account.

Luckily, I only had the card for a couple months at this point, so it wasn't a significant hit
