Stats:
Years as head coach:
Geno: 29 years as head coach
Pat: 38 years as head coach
National Championships:
Geno: 9x (1995, 2000, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2009, 2010, 2013, 2014)
Pat: 8x (1987,1989,1991,1996,1997,1998,2007,2008)
Overall record:
Geno: 915–134 (.872)
Pat: 1,098–208 (.841)
Conference Champs:
Geno: 21x regular season champs, 20x conference tournament champs
Pat: 16x regular season champs, 16x conference tournament champs
Head to Head:
The schools started playing each other in 1995. As of early 2007, UConn leads the series 13-9, including 5-2 in the tournament and 4-0 for the title. On June 8, 2007, it was announced the schools would discontinue the regular-season series.
I don't know anything about women's college basketball, but I always just assumed Pat was the GOAT. I didn't realize that Geno's numbers are better.

Geno ran Pat off the map and had his success when more schools are trying in women's basketball.

Pat has forgotten more about basketball than Geno will ever know.

Pat won more titles back when there were fewer schools that cared about WBB. Geno won more in current time period when the competition increased.

I don't even understand why any man would want to coach women's basketball. Maybe they have a fetish for young black women.

Then throw shots at mens college basketball. He's like the rec league all star that would get embarrassed by a walk on.

I've wondered this too.

I coached hs girls when i was younger
1)its a gre at starting spot
2)as far as coachability its not even close that girls are better at that 1 aspect. They may not be able to do what guys can but they listen a killion nt imes better because they dont have that "im a man and do what i want" young men tend to have
3) once start coaching you get judt as attached to that team as you would a boys team
And he prob started that job to gain experience but now he makes plenty and is a legend. Big fish small pond theory

Judging by the statistics you posted, the answer is obvious: Geno Auriemma.
That said, I don't watch women's basketball. And even if I did, I wouldn't be able to tell how good a coach is - especially a coach who consistently recruits the best players in the country at a particular sport.
