Carrying a gun in my car would be a bad idea.
The only situation I can see myself using it and being justified would be if I was getting car jacked and that situation hasn't come up in 22 years so I doubt it will ever.
Otherwise I could pull a gun while being a hothead and regret it for the tests of my life.

You will (probably) find that having a gun in your vehicle or on your person makes you less apt to engage or lose your temper.

well normaly car jackings only happen to people once.... they dont usually happen over and over. so good luck when it does
