That's PowderTown, my man! The three Double aught seven three. Well, at least that is what us native Powder Springian rednecks used to jokingly call it.
I grew up there and it was an awesome place to live. Went to grade, middle, and HS in a system that was nearly 50/50 black/white. A place where there wasn't much difference between the races, if any at all. The black and white communities lived, worked and played together in great harmony. Half of my good friends were black and listened to the same variety of music from metal, classic rock, R&B to old school rap such as Whodini, Run DMC, Curtis Blow, etc.. Just as likely to see a black guy driving a truck, fishing or shooting squirrels with a dip in their mouth than a white guy.
There would be very little sympathy for this guy from the PowderTown black community. Not for this type of stupidity at least. Having grown up in a harmonious split small town like PS spoiled me in a way. Makes it all the harder to fathom what I see with race relations today....almost 30 years later from when I was fifteen.
