Boiling Crawfish on Natural Gas

Anyone got any info on this? Thinking about putting a gas line in on the back patio when they are building. I see some natural gas burners online for like $250-300 and I'm assuming this is a specialized burner with more holes to allow for more heat to come through. It sure would be nice not to have to lug around propane tanks all over, but does the natural gas solution work?
Thanks, dudes

Nothing wrong with natural gas at all.

I just don't want to be sitting over a flame for an hour waiting on it to start boiling.

Kind of curious about this as well. I have a natural gas line but have always heard it doesn't get as hot as propane.

Do you use a regular natural gas line coming from a house? Or did you have the line rigged for more pressure?

The burner is set up for normal residential gas pressure, about 6" water pressure. I ran a 3/4" line from the main line to the patio. All works well.

You'll need a new gas meter with more pressure than the standard residential one. I boiled with natural gas but had 4 lbs of pressure instead of the standard 4 ounces.
Gas company also charges for meter, think mine was $500

I've had one for 10 years, works like a champ. Looks like this (too lazy to post a pic): LINK
I use that burner with propane, works great

Geez, this is adding up... 500 for a meter change for more pressure. 300 for a special burner.
Might just get a big propane tank and leave it on the patio

you can buy a full 25 gallon tank for about $250 and it will boil lots of crawfish before having to fill

I bought the Bayou Boiler 4 years ago and love it. It comes with the quick connect couplers and long gas hose. Also has wind blockers built in on 3 sides. I can boil my 100qt pot w the normal water level in 17-18 minutes. Yes, I've timed it. Bayouboiler.com
