The team will go as far as Josh Gray goes.

I agree with this statement for this year for sure. It's too bad Gray was so inconsistent. I think that demoting him from the starting lineup hurt the team in the long run. His minutes were too limited. A solid Gray out of the gate could potentially set the pace for the game. If he came out bad, we had a solid and consistent sub in Patterson, but Gray would still eat 10 minutes before it was clear he wasn't going to have an amazing game. When we switched to Patterson as a starter, we had an inconsistent sub coming in off the bench in Gray. Even when he played well at the beginning of games like against NCSt, Jones was scared to go back to him late due to his tendency to stick with starters in close games. I think those more limited minutes had a negative impact on his confidence when he was playing well and prevented that much needed spark when things got close. I think Gray's performance against Arkansas exemplifies my point.

BS, if Gray had remained the starter and got the majority of the minutes, we probably would not have made the tournament.

To his credit, he improved later in the season, but as the other poster pointed out, how did he earn the reputation of a great shooter.
If he continues to improve he may prove us wrong. Hope so.
