That means we'll draft a bust at 13, then turn around and get our Colston at Mr. Irrelevant.

The Saints haven't received anything yet. So this statement is false, they're PROJECTED based on this article. Also, I don't see them getting any from the people I've talked to.

It looks like it's probably around 50/50 being that we're projected to get the very last pick, so we very well could end up not getting it. But these people you talk to, how much do they actually know about the awarding of compensatory picks? It's a pretty well-hidden formula, but OTC, while not 100% accurate, puts in a lot of work on it, and seems to have a better understand of it than most.

Every year we should trade this pick for a pick in a higher round in next year's draft. In like 7 years, we're getting like a free first round pick.
yeah i think we can't trade the picks but got dang i'm a smart dude.

What a terrible system. If you notice, the Bengals are projected to get a 3rd round pick for Michael Johnson. The same Johnson that a year later was cut by TB and re-signed with the Bengals. So they get a 3rd round pick and don't have to pay him for a terrible season.

as well as it penalizes bucs in the compensation chart for signing johnson that may have offset any other loser they lost. System is kind of a joke, it rewards incompetent teams who can't resign their players and penalizes those who can.

Agreed. It needs to be improved (a 3rd is WAY too high to be giving away), or just done away with altogether.

Well they follow the Saints daily and voice their opinion through the multiple areas on media throughout Nola.

So, no? In all seriousness, I doubt our local media has more (if any at all) insight on the formula of compensatory picks than OTC. But, I won't let that get in the way of letting you tell everyone that you "talk to people."
