I know it's not popular here, but as an earlier poster stated, if you use Uncle Ben's Converted Rice you will have no problems. It won't "split" like so many like, but it will be fluffy and not gummy.
2 to 1 water to rice ratio. Salt to taste. Bring to boil and then simmer for 20 minutes covered. Turn off heat and let rest for 5 minutes. Fluff with a fork.
Perfect.
