What non tournament favorite has impressed you the most?

Outside of the 1's and 2's who has been a team you think can win it all?
If West Virginia can use their depth and pressure I think they can beat Kentucky and go deep. Kentucky hasn't faced a team that plays like them and it might throw them a loop.

Xavier and WSU. WSU can shoot the 3, when you can do that, you always have a chance.

They're going to absolutely destroy West Virginia down low.
Plus, Kentucky is big and strong. And they have tall guys who can pass and catch over the top of the press.
And finally, West Virginia gives up a lot of 2-on-1s and 3-on-1s on the back end of their press. It's just the nature of their defense. Maryland didn't finish these opportunities very well, and WVU was able to get some chase-down blocks.
That won't happen to Kentucky. They'll have a big on the back end waiting for a lob/easy dunks.
Kentucky might struggle a bit early, but they'll roll to a 15-20 point win.

Yea, probably wichita after their dismantling of Kansas today.
Three point reliant teams are kinda flukey though.

Utah, probably the most well balanced non favorite.

Utah, Wichita St, NC St and Xavier all have been impressive. I have the least knowledge of Xavier of all of them. Who would be a good sleeper pick to win it all? I'm like Utah, Wichita St and NC St almost equally with veteran back courts and they all have decent low post play.

That is a good point and probably most likely what will happen. Kentucky is going to hard to insanely hard to beat.

Wichita St
NC State and Michigan State have done the "most" by beating the other 1 & 2. Not to take credit away from NC State, but had LSU been remotely competent the last 25 percent of the game that Nova game never happens. Nonetheless, a ton of props for beating a Number 1.
MSU also did a great job as usual shutting down UVA.

It's hard to say that WSU has impressed the most because I think they were underrated and underseeded going in. They're a good team with a great coach. They're just showing that once again.
MSU looked impressive beating UVA, but should we really expect anything else from Izzo? You'd be hard pressed to find a better tournament coach than him over the last 10-15 years.
NC State has been the most fortunate of any team. They simply weren't very good against LSU. It took a complete meltdown by LSU just for them to win at the buzzer. The win over Nova was impressive, but it didn't hurt that Nova shot the ball as poorly as they have all season (31%). Make no mistake, LSU would have needed Nova to have the same kind of performance if they wanted to pull the upset, but it's not like State was dominant that game. At the end of the day all that matters is the result on the score board. For that, NC State doesn't have to apologize to anyone. But it's hard for me to say that they have been "impressive".
The non-favorite that has impressed me the most is Utah. KenPom had them as a top 10 team going into the tournament. Instead of looking at that, I believed the talk that they were trending down and SFA was too good and experienced. Utah's defense completely shut down a very good SFA offense and then really never let G'town get going. I would not be shocked at all to see them in the Final Four. Outside of UK and Zona, they're probably the most balanced team left in the tournament
