Back in my day if a pitcher ear holed a player on purpose he got his arse beat promptly after the game. Youngsters thinking a bat flip is lack of respect is a joke, especially in the same breath you talk of ear holing players. Neither are appropriate.

A payback pitch in today's times are now considered "bullying" instead of payback for acting an arse.
