I hate to burst your bubble, but here's what going to happen...

Call or write your legislator all you want, but know that the Sheriff's Association and the DAs Association will be against this and this bill will be lucky to get out of committee.

It will receive less than 30 votes if it ever makes it to the House floor.

This can only last for so long.

The pot industry and lobbyists will be big, powerful and rich enough one day to buy legalization in a state like Louisiana. That will happen when enough states that aren't as socially conservative as the south has legalized it.

The miserable POS DA lobby squashed a bill last year in committee that would've just reduced the sentences for simple possession. Louisiana is hopeless as far as sensible progress.
