We are not the only university that gets frustrated with our teams and the coaching.
Coaches are being treated like CEO's -high salary and significant compensation.
IMO coaches should be viewed as management with lower salaries and huge incentive compensation i.e. you win games, playoffs, championships you get the big dollars.
What incentive do coaches really have other than keeping their jobs- and at most places like LSU you that is a long leash
Agree or disagree?

It just doesn't work that way.
You might say they "should" be paid on incentive...but if you try to do that, while the other 300 schools pay guaranteed money, guess what happens.
Also, coaches are absolutely skewered constantly. If they don't win, they get destroyed publicly. They deal with a ton of unfair criticism.

This never was meant for LSU only but across the board for all schools-
I know it is pie in the sky all I am wanted to point out was universities allowed agents of coaches to create the compensation monster that has led to mediocrity being the norm.

They have built in bonuses for certain achievements.
Problem is when you're already making million+ a $50k bonus doesn't seem like it matters. Coaching salaries have seriously spiraled out of control in the last decade IMO.
It's hard to incentivize postseasons success when they know they're already making so much base salary.
