You are correct. Neither did he coach his team all season to improve on free throws or to have set plays to score with Martin or did he call timely timeouts to regroup and rest his team down the stretch or put pressure on the officiating to call traveling most of the night -
You are correct there are a lot of things he did not do tonight
This was a TEAM Loss and the coaches are part of the team

Coach K and Duke got bounced by 14 seed Mercer last March, guess that was poor coaching too.

he doesn't even understand the irony of him saying Calipari has a long standing tradition of teams that make clutch free throws I guess he was asleep the entire Memphis era

What do you want Jones to do, designate half of practice to free throws?
Yes, if that's what it takes to make a fricking free throw.

But really Idk. I am not a basketball coach. But I don't see well coached teams just stop scoring points for entire halves anywhere near as often as we do.
Watch some basketball and you'll see it happens. That's why they don't call the games when teams get up by 16 points. In many games, you'll see teams go on runs of 14-2 or similar... in fact, it happened in the first half tonight so I guess the winning coach is pretty bad for letting that happen.

They wouldn't have to, their team would. LSU Basketball will continue to suck until we get a top notch coach here.

My favorite part was when he said Johnny sucked because he coached at North Texas...do y'all think he realizes Calipari coached at UMass?

Didn't make the NCAAT until his 4th year at Duke. CJJ ahead of schedule.
LOL
CJ is 58 years old, not 28, and had MANY years of experience coaching, and as Barkley said, a top 10 talented team that should not lose SIX times to teams outside the top 100.
I always admire your positive attitude....and this wasn't ALL on Jones tonight......but I'm afraid you are wrong on this one.

Yall are some stupid mother frickers. Do the great teams miss free throws and turn the ball over? No, because they're well coached.
Who's the stupid mother fricker? We only had 8 turnover.
You are. Period

CJ is 54, that's actually a huge difference

You think if we had Coach K or Calipari all season that we lose this game?
Nobody is arguing we have a Coach K, nor does anyone think LSU basketball has any chance of getting one. I think the discussion is just that tonught wasn't on the coach, and that we are on an upward trend, whether progress is fast enough or not.

Plenty of great coaches have had teams that were terrible in these regards. Then they had years where teams were great in these aspects, and they won big.

Suck a dick, what will be yall excuse next year? Oh JJ is a good coach, it's not his fault his team sucks and can't make a shot......blah blah blah

It baffles me that every post you've ever made is worthless rabble

My point is you were trying to run Jones down because he coached at a small school. Pointing out that Calipari did the same thing
