im not trolling, and im not trying to be insensitive. I know he did something wrong, something bad happened because of it. He is responsible for his actions. He needs to be punished. I just dont think 8 years is helping anyone in the situation, unless this guy had some sort of history of violence or something.

He punched a referee in a recreational game because he was mad at a call.
That's enough of a history of violence in my opinion to warrant locking up a murderer.

He has a history of this.

It's absolutely the right punishment. We live in a fricking civilized society, you can't go around assaulting people to the point of death because you get "caught up in the moment" and get off without any punishment. And frankly I'm more of an eye for an eye kinda guy so IMO he got off easier than he should have, but either way actions have consequences. He got his
