re: ACT scores are horse sh*t

Unfortunately, there's not really a superior way to assess where kids are. But I will say that for the real world, I've found that it's not really reflective at all of people's capabilities.

Most important technical skills in professional jobs are intelligence, efficiency, memory, and a highly organized mind. Right behind that would be social intelligence with an increasing level of importance as your career progresses. Hard to say how much of that can be evaluated through multiple choice problems or anything else for that matter. There's just so much shite you can't really test for that I've found to be important.
