wtf?
ULL Playing in Houston Classic next year
Is it still a tourney if you dont play everyone? How is the winner decided?
ETA:
Yes, Tie breaker was the run differential against opponents.

Weird format. Regardless, the winner was decided by record. Being that A&M and LSU were 3-0. The tie breaker was run differential. I think we were +6 and they were +8.

It is not good sportsmanship to condone running up the score.

That's the way most tournaments are formatted now these days....everybody wants to be guaranteed a certain amount of games for these tourneys during the season.

Roger. Its meaningless. I just find it funny ULL sticks it to the Tigers in the wording, although it is technically true, it is a bit misleading at the same time.

They wanted LSU for next year too but CPM said they already had obligations that weekend but he was working to clear the way for 2017. As far as that article goes....consider the source of the slanted verbiage.

Who's on the schedule for that weekend next year?

How in the hell can you declare a "winner" in a tournament like that? We went undefeated and did not play A&M, yet they won? Makes no sense. I miss the old Busch and Winn Dixie Superdome tournaments. Those were fun.

According to the Advocate & CPM: "LSU’s preconference non-SEC schedule is set for 2016 and 2017. The Tigers host Cincinnati, Sacramento State, Fordham and Ball State in 2016."
From the same interview: "LSU may return to the Houston College Classic in 2017, Mainieri said he may try to swap a previously scheduled nonconference series in the season’s opening month so the Tigers can make a return trip to an event that drew thousands of purple-clad fans."
