I am a morning person by nature, but the long days meant we all didn't get back to our apartment until usually after 10 pm. After a shower, some story telling, unwiding, etc it was midnight like that.
It just about killed any of our "nightlife" plans we had. We did have some schedule nights where we had specific reservations and such, but other than that it was just so late by the time we got back. The first night we were there Phoenix was actually playing in concert and I had a line on some tickets from a family friend, but the concert didn't start till like midnight.
It was one of the tougher adjustments. Well, that and not being able to find good american coffee near our apartment until halfway through our trip.
I lucked out and found cupcakery that was owned by americans (although staffed by Parisians) and they had fresh american coffee for us every morning.
