There's a 6' 6" med-hvy falcon with a Curado attached to it at the bottom of Concordia from a similar incident. In my instance, we were trolling out into the lake towards some schooling bass. Chart/wht 1/8 oz Wedge (double Colorado) Spinnerbait on said rig was hanging off the front of the boat about 12" ABOVE the water and within 24" of trolling motor shaft. While leaning back on my stool bullshitting with the guy in the back of the boat, a big splash right by my feet occurs, followed by the rod going over the side. Damndest thing. Same trip a trolling motor bracket broke and trolling motor went to bottom of lake. I haven't been back since.
