Edit: This is also the worst subject i've ever seen for a topic. Why did you not name is something more relevant like "trying to cancel directv"??

Fixed.

And it's because I want to cut the cord without getting screwed and cut the cord without paying any fees that I could avoid.

(To the other comment after yours)I'd also rather not just call DirecTV to talk to them. Every time I do, it takes at least an hour to get through the hold time and resolve the issue with the representative. And further, as I'm experiencing now, I feel the representatives are disingenuous with what they tell me. Six months ago, I had the lady on the phone repeat to me twice with me being rather obnoxious about her confirming that my monthly payment would be $62/month for the next 12 months. She assured me that my payments would only be for $62/month for the next 12 months.

My February payment a few days ago was $72. March is scheduled to be $72. She either wasn't truthful with me or misunderstood what my payments would be for a year.

I'm just sick of it. I watch three shows and football, and it's not worth the money anymore.

You're going to have to call them to get out of your contract. And as far as the price, the difference is the taxes. They never include the taxes in their discussions.
